The "safer" way to do this is to connect telnet or ssh, cd /home/spool/mail,
then either "mail -f <accountname> or just ><accountname> where <accountname>
is the user account you want to remove mail from.
The mail -f <accountname> will open the mailbox in a character base mail
reader and you can delete (d1-1000) messages, then q to quit and save (x to
quit without making any changes).
The ><accountname> (right arrow accountname) will simply "write" nothing to
the mailbox in question thereby instantly emptying it and not affecting
sendmail, mailscanner and such...
