I have a Raq 550 that is experiencing an intermittent RAID issue. The
server sends me an "Active Monitor State Change" notification that there is
an issue with the RAID system. When I pull up the status of the RAID in
the Active Monitor GUI, the drives look fine. There is a yellow light next
to the "Disk Integrity" light, but when I click on the magnifying glass, I
see "All drives are functioning normally".
Fifteen minutes later (during the next active monitor polling), the Active
Monitor light changes to green.
Doing a tail of /var/log/messages shows the RAID state change, but that's
about. There's no log entry for how the state changed.
This happened twice in the past two months.
Has anyone been experiencing this problem? I don't want to replace any
drives right off the bat.
Here's my system's info:
Raq 550/256MB/40GB
- about three months old
- fully patched to current patch level
- very light system load (one domain w/10 users)
- connected to APC Symmetra UPS
