If you reply to my email address I'd be happy to send you the pre-package
httpd binaries which you can simply replace the "new" ones with. This
effectively backs off the problems and has resolved the issue for me.
I find it somewhat bizarre that Sun wants us to pay it to fix their updates
(see the thread), but there you go.
