The Sun Cobalt RaQs and Qubes are server appliances; that is they're
designed as turnkey "plug-in and run" ways to host websites.

You've heard correctly, the last of these is rapidly approach EOL
(End-Of-Life). Support from Sun has gotten "slow" for most servers for
which it's still available, and will soon enough become non-existent.

There are other continuing support solutions available from some of us
who post here, but frankly, I'm recommending to my clients that they
move beyond the RaQs soon.

Unfortunately there are no other plug-in solutions, hardware and
software integrated, that I know of to replace them.

I'm suggesting to many of my clients that they look at various "control
panels" which can be added to vanilla Linux or FreeBSD servers to
create hosting platforms, but before I could recommend something to you
I'd like to know a bit about your experience level.

Happy holiday!
