Gerald called it a "poor hard drive partition schema" I didn't.

"a few thousand email addresses that get a lot of spam" ??? 3000 thousand
users? Are you kidding... That sounds like a really cheap thing to try and
do... They need a fast mail server not an old slow server and I bet the
logs fill up! get a real server... and hey jeff... my car didn't qualify
for the indy 500 again this year... something about it not being a race
car???? :)

Actually if you look at the old old systems you will find they work on some
very old customs before anybody knew what spam was... it was all old
style... not the "customer support" version used today where isp's make 1
big partition... :)

well guess what ... that damm lcd! :)
so I was about to build another test box for some packages I'm making and I
decided to give this another try and actually look around and test a
little... and I ended up reviewing all the boot related files... These are
the results....

Yes it boots just fine and all is well...

What dosent' work...
durring the boot process we don't get messages from gettext displayed on the
lcd until the disk is mounted... No biggie... I like a term when I boot
anyway...

yep.. I just grab the stuff I want...

well it's just /var data anyway and has no bussiness there.. but we don't
aren't suppose to have that much anyway... :)

? I haven't had any problems like this and I just tested it on a RaQ4. I
had a user with a 20 meg quota that I cat'ed the cobaltlist mail file into
(13 meg) and then set it up in my mail and "pop" ... 3500 messages later i'm
done? Can you tell me a way to re-produce this?

oh and you can have a /tmp if you want one... :) how big?
