John,
200Mb isn't really all that large, we run some pretty big tables on a 4i and
it copes quite nicely.
Mostly it is the nature of the actual SQL query and the way it's been
written that governs the efficiency of the way it runs.
You can easily set up the tables and run from the mysql command line to see
the execution time of the query as a tryout to see what sort time it takes.
20 users at the same time isn't a lot!
