Subject: [cobalt-users] Whats the best way to backup and restore a large
raq hdd?
Hi Guy's
I am a RaQ (and linux) n00b I will be the first to admit.
I shall shortly be moving to a better spec RaQ and wanted to copy everything
over, the problem is that I have a number of custom applications that I
really do not want to have to install again (I am sure many of you can
sympathise with this).
I recall reading that the backup on the RaQ will not back-up things like
packages that have been installed (more importantly, the raq is pretty
full - 1 site alone is over a GB - so it always times out).
It has been recommended to me that I dump/restore from/to the old/new raq (i
think that makes sense).
Is this recommended or is there a better way to do it.
All recommendations much appreciated.
Lewis.
