I have asked this question before and nobody has been able to help me yet
but I am going to ask again and hopefully somebody can help me. The machine
I am talking about is a Qube3 Professional w/ RAID1, 512MB of RAM. For some
reason every Sunday (yes, each and every Sunday) the /var/log/maillog file
is empty. It continues to write the log information to maillog.1 instead of
starting the day with /var/log/maillog. This is really annoying as I look
at the SMA reports everyday but on Sundays the SMA report is empty because
the maillog file is empty and I have no way to fix this but to reboot the
server and then the maillog file is back to normal. Should I not reboot the
server and let it run like this all the way until Monday and then see if on
Monday the logs start being written to /var/log/maillog like it should?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Santiago.
