Re: [cobalt-users] maillog entry "does not resolve" - is spam getting through or being rejected?

Hi,

I've just noticed hundreds of entries such as the one below in my maillog.
They occur roughly every three minutes.

Nov  7 04:44:16 (none) sendmail[24281]: hA74fam24281: ruleset=check_mail,
arg1=<ky5csc@xxxxxxxxxxxx>, relay=aphid.CSUChico.EDU [132.241.83.67],
reject=451 4.1.8 <ky5csc@xxxxxxxxxxxx>... Domain of sender address
ky5csc@xxxxxxxxxxxx does not resolve

The medic.net.au DNS servers are not responding to queries. The domain cannot be resolved and sendmail is rejecting mail from ky5csc@xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Nov  7 04:44:16 (none) sendmail[24281]: hA74fam24281:
from=<ky5csc@xxxxxxxxxxxx>, size=1142, class=0, nrcpts=0, proto=ESMTP,
daemon=MTA, relay=aphid.CSUChico.EDU [132.241.83.67]

So, can some kind soul please enlighten me with what exactly is happening?
Are the emails being rejected? Bounced? Forwarded to another server? Other?

The mail is sent from aphid.csuchico.edu. My guess is that it is probably spam.
