I have about 10 pages worth of what not to do, from a project to
update my XTR to 550 software. It seems that you can take down one
system and let the other handle its load for a while. That is good.
I will post more details of my experiece. The three things I would
like to know before I tackle my update project again are:
1. How to update and verify the ROMS. I had some odd problems and I'm
not sure that the update of the ROMS went perfectly -- it reports
an acceptably current ROM. Where can you find out the differences?
2. How to burn a custom OSRCD with all the current versions of
software added. If you install and the update through BlueLinQ you
lose almost an hour or two in restarts.
3. How to customize a kernal. Gerald Waugh mentioned (probably in a
private email - as I lost my main server (the RaQ XTR) I was trying
to upgrade - for a while.
