I may be doing it, I may can the RAQ I've been using for 3 yrs or so and
putting in Windows Web edition. I need A LOT more CPU power than my 3i
provides so I'm going to test a Dell 1750 with dual ZEONs, 2 gig RAM, 73gig
10K u320 drives, 1U, DVD ... for about $3800 including the OS.
I need to integrate better with our windows systems so for us it just makes
sense instead of fighting the Linux(RAQ)/Windows issues; and we have
deliver some Windows apps that are based on DLLs, so we are stuck there as
well. And I sure as s--t knows Windows gooder than Linux/Unix.
I figure it will take me a month or so to migrate everything, at the end I
have to decide if I should keep my RAQ as a backup mail server, even do
some hosting on it still as the only problem we have is that we have about
400 mail customers and the drag on the system is just a little too much,
I'd be happy with about 100-200 tops.
If I were to sell it, is there a market for a:
RAQ 3i
I think it has 512meg RAM, I'd have to look
(2) 30gig Maxtor hard drives (I dd from one to the other each week)
New cooling fans
THIS IS NOT AN AD - I WILL POST IT ON eBAY IF I SELL IT (sorry, want to be
clear) ... if the price is too low I'd keep it, not worth giving away.
So any thoughts? Salable, too old? Value?
Thanks,
Jale
