You could, but probably it'll not very helpful for your problem - when the
logs grow you get the message again. I doubt that these logs are the culprit
(also they are rotated automatically to avoid filling up the hard drive).
For a quick and temporary solution get rid of all *.1.gz archives, these are
the old logs.

use the du (disc usage) command to check where you need to clean up ("du -h
/var").
