[cobalt-users] fixing previous configuration mistakes on upgrading

I'm still working out my plans to upgrade my XTR to 550 software.

Originally, I had two major configuration problems. I'm running the
web server, sendmail, dns, etc. I'm using this for
a public library with two domains one in the lib.ny.us domain (which
you can see from my email address) and sspl.org because it was open
and people hate typing long domain names. I have both domains at the
same ip address. (I do have a spare ip I can use if it would help
straighter things out).

I also created some subdomains and was at a complete loss as to how to
have http://www.saratoga.lib.ny.us, http://www.sspl.org,
http://saratoga.lib.ny.us, http://sspl.org all be the main web
site. Instead it is always being rewritten to the sub-domains web
site. I couldn't find how to set it up so that I have one server for a
domain - and then the rest for the subdomains?

Right now if you go to http://sspl.org it gets rewritten as
http://sir-barton.saratoga.lib.ny.us.

I have a similar misconfiguration problem with email - which I would
like to show up as going from either sspl.org or saratoga.lib.ny.us
depending on the user. Instead some of the email, gets detected as
coming from war-admiral.saratoga.lib.ny.us when some servers pick up
yet another version of the machines name - rather than just the
domain.
