Ok, I've put up a "complete" process at
http://www.cobaltfaqs.com/wiki/index.php/RestoringMailServerAliases.
The original script mentioned in the archives had some limitations - only
handled hostnames of 'www', didn't address some other sections of
virtusertable, etc.
All interested parties can review the process I put up. There's a lengthy
"newbie-friendly" section explaining what each line is doing, etc., and a
"just commands for experts" section that the more experienced admins will
probably prefer.
I also left in a link to the original manual method/explanation for those who
like pain, or as a reference we can give people who have the "why is mail
for my new domain bouncing" problem... the direct URL for that is
http://www.cobaltfaqs.com/wiki/index.php/RestoringMailServerAliasesManually
As always, comments/corrections appreciated... and it's in a wiki, so you can
just do it yourself!
8^)
