after reading the first two posts dealing with 16620, i stopped mailscanner, removed the q1-q4 subdirectories, ran the update and then restarted mailscanner. Mailscanner was not working at this point, so did a restart and all has been fine since. No one said the q1-q4 directories had to go away permanently, just that they could not be there while doing the update. There were there again right after doing the update and before restarting mailscanner.
