Thanks in advance for any help, and for the great answers I've gotten
from the archives already.
I have a Raq4 that is having intermittent deathly slow ftp, especially
on file listing. The problem seems to come and go, and I'm at a loss at
how to determine what the problem is. I've verified the problem across
accounts, ftp client locations, etc.
Typical LIST performance when the problem is occurring:
5615 bytes in 9.7 secs(5.8Kbps) for 83 files
260,199 bytes in 564.3 secs (4.52 Kbps) for 3000+ files
2059 bytes in 4.4 secs (4.7 Kbps) for 2 files
At times during a LIST command, the transfer seems to stop completely
for 30-60 secs. The ftp client does say that it is entering passive mode
at the beginning of each LIST command (in the ws_ftp log).
To actually download a file I see this performance:
3,624,960 bytes in 139 secs (255.7 Kbps)
