Mac OS X 10.2.8 was not intended for G5 Macs, that is why it didn't

Most problems related for 10.2.8 seems to affects early G4 Macs like
 the G4/400, G4/450 and G4/500.

Well one that got the 10.2.8 update was indeed a G3 500 Snow, but our other new machine was a new iMac 17" flat with the new G4 1.25 GHz didn't get the
update.

Must be some new staff from Sun working there now:)

Thanks for the heads up on the OS X

Here are some detailed reports about the bugs in 10.2.8: http://www.macfixit.com/article.php?story=20030926163005125

I've installed it here on my Ti and it work's perfect for me. I know other iBook'ers and Ti'ers, too...

Since I updated my Qube with the latest patches (SUN and Solarspeed) I also had Problems accessing the Internet, but only in one direction, downloads are fine but uploads are crap. checked it using a online test tool from my dsl provider.

also checking the state of my Qube using phpSysInfo-2.1 i found that I had a lot of errors on eth0

I agree that I also installed OSX 10.2.8 on my G4/400, therefore I didn't know who to blame.

I downgraded my Ethernet Kernel Extension with this tool 'AppleGMACEthernet Patcher 1.0.1'
you can get it at http://www.fixamac.net/software/agmacep/

but this didn't fix my problem :-(

so I decided to reboot my Qube and now everything works fine :-)
