[cobalt-users] Email Problem - No sending or receiving and Negative Length message

I hope someone can point me in the right direction with this problem.

Emails have not been arriving at any of their destinations on one of my
cobalt raq servers.  Similarly, test emails sent out from sites hosted
on this server are not getting to their destination.   No sending or
receiving.  This started some time last night but I never realised until
emails expected this morning never came through.  It soon became
apparent that emails being sent were also not going through.  I have
been using OpenWebMail to both send and receive email.

Last night, a "near to quota" message arrived at one of the user names
of a site hosted on the server.  However, it is impossible to delete
anything from the sent folder of that username as there are two sent
emails with large attachments (a botched attempt at sending them) there
reporting a negative length and affecting the whole of the storage
reporting for that Sent folder.

I get this message when I try to view the two emails with negative
length files.

"Software error:
Negative length at /home/openwebmail/cgi-bin/openwebmail/maildb.pl line
889.

For help, please send mail to the webmaster (admin), giving this error
message and the time and date of the error. (the time and date of this
is literally 12.41 hours on September 30 but it has been like that for a
while)."
