I thought mongoose required a .cgi php, or else the problem was the way you
have to install it. We tried it once, can't remember if it was on a Raq or
our Debians. Needless to say we ended up using Dan's recommendation.
I have not seen a pkg, free or $$ available. Be nice to see a HTDig out
someday:))

We use this for regular web site search engines and also for our Mailman
search feature. Works great.
If you are looking for a very large search engine that can spider/crawl
multiple sites, I would recommend Fluid Dynamics. Don't have the url around,
but we are using it for about half a dozen community web engines, installed
on Raq4's
