Thanks Tom - it was "fun while it lasted" :-)

I had thought of asking Sprint but was a little leery of "letting the cat
out of the bag" although it was THEIR Tech Support folks that told me to
FORGET their mail client and get Eudora, which is what made me realize
(during the setup and config of Eudora) that I could do what I am doing :-)

the msn network requires you log into it. with outlook or outlook express, you can use your own mail server, but you have to log in to msn, with other email clients, you can't do it. I couldn't with Eudora up through 5, not sure if 6 will allow it. This ability may solve your problem, loging into sprint while still checking your server.
