Hi Jeff

I had the same problem. I managed to fix it. It always crashed while 
rebuilding md2, I think. After several reboots, I let it rebuild md4 and 
md3 and then issued a "init 6" to cleanly reboot the system. When it came 
back up it proceeded the sync with md2 and finished without any problem.
Before it would always crash at about 36% of md2 and then after the reboot 
begin syncing again with md4...
