Re: [cobalt-users] Sudden Failure To Send Mail/MX Loop Problem

Hello,

Short Answer, Remove MX and A record gexaenergy.com.psxnation.com as I think
sendmail is confused by the first part gexaenergy.com.

Long Answer, your domain: gexaenergy.com has one MX record:

gexaenergy.com pointing to mail.gexaenergy.com [64.78.61.8]

The Other domain psxnation.com has one MX record:

psxnation.com pointing to psxnation.com [216.234.188.15]

The IP address of the hostname "gexaenergy.com.psxnation.com" is the same as
the IP address of your www.psxnation.com
which is 216.234.188.15 so you see why you have a probelm with MX loopback.

Now, the MX mail.gexaenergy.com is listening to port25 smtp accepting email
from outside BUT when you try to send a message from the server "localhost"
or any local smtp within the server, sendmail will check
/etc/mail/local-hostame and will deliver the message through
gexaenergy.com.psxnation.com instead of mail.gexaenergy.com.

If you check the /etc/mail/local-hostnames you will find an entry for
gexaenergy.com.psxnation.com. Actually using the telnet if you connect to
hostname gexaenergy.com.psxnation.com on port 25 "smtp" you will get
sendmail greeting for www.psxnation.com domain. Also if you paste
gexaenergy.com.psxnation.com to the browser it will redirect to
www.psxnation.com.

As I mentioned above you will need to remove gexaenergy.com.psxnation.com
from your DNS.

aljuhani@xxxxxxxxx
