There are options, but some require separate machines. This is interesting: I guess this may be one of the first viruses to have its own SMTP engine, since this is the first time we've been in this predicament. We have a FreeBSD Postfix gateway that filters in front of an mail server. We've always set a higher priority MX record to the gateway and the lower to the actual mail server of the domain as backup in case the gateway is down (never happended). Anyway, this virus is actually sending directly to the lower priority MX record and bypassing the gateway. So, now we have to put a second gateway up to backup instead of relying on the actual mail server. More costs due to these viruses :-(
Also, you can run use www.procmail.org and create recipes to keep the
stuff out of your mailbox. But the server will still process it, just
less.
