Do a search for it. This is crude and may not be the best way but... as
root type find / |grep "mysql.sock" If this doesn't find it I think you can
specify where the sock file is in the my.cnf file in /etc just put in the
heading
[SOCK]
/var/lib/mysql/
I'm not sure of the exact syntax but it is simular to that. You can find
more information on mysql.com. After specifing where you want it just
restart mysql.
/etc/rc.d/init.d/mysql restart.
