Hi Gerald,
That is from the VIM update recently from Sun/Cobalt. I have seen a lot of users complain about it, and the only solutions I have seen were to reinstall a newer (non-proprietary) VIM over the one that Sun put out. Sorry, no articles to reference. The discussion occurred about three weeks ago.
