I'm not being funny... but why?

K6-II cpus at 500Mhz are $15-20 on ebay - do you honestly want to mess with your power supply and risk blowing the whole lot up for the sake of saving $20??  You can drop in a 500Mhz cpu and a wire jumper, and gain 60% more bogomips for 10 minutes work and $20.

I really don't think it's worth the risk - I'd never attempt it, but I'm not the world's best with a soldering iron and electricity... perhaps you are...???
