I have been trying on more than one occasion to build my own OSRCD with
a larger /var and / partitions and updates. No problem making a CD with
the latest packages, but when I try to alter the necessary file in order
to make the partitions larger, the RaQ4r either continuously reboots or
my 40GB dual Maxtor hard drives only show up with 3.5GB in the Cobalt
GUI. The only thing I can find different between the archives I've tried
to follow and the iso downloaded is the RELEASE_SPEC.3100R found in
'NFSROOT_X86\BTO_SYNC\PRODUCTION\3100R_1.155\INSTALLER' on the CD that
has to be altered. The archives and other notes I've found have this as
an 'before' example:
# This is the partition table for the product
%begin Partition_Table
0,750,83
,158,5
,200,83
,,83
,30,83
,,82
%end Partition_Table
However, the iso I download and try to use has this:
# This is the partition table for the product
%begin Partition_Table
0,750,fd
,158,5
,200,fd
,,fd
,30,83
,,fd
%end Partition_Table
If I try to alter the sizes in the latter example, I get the
mis-configured hard drive space. If I try to alter the former, I get the
continuous rebooting. Is my problem that I don't have an original CD and
I'm relying on the iso. Has anyone done this with a copy of the OS
downloaded as an iso from Cobalt?
