Paul,
I find starting from scratch sometimes fixes a problem.
So, here is what I would do. I would delete all A and mx records for both
domains, domain1.com and domain2.com. Then I would delete the websites from
the GUI. Then, start with domain1.com and set up the site, create the user
Paul. Next, go to the DNS and set up the A record for domain1.com and
www.domain1.com. Then I would set up the MX record for domain1.com.
After that is complete, I would do the exact same thing for domain2.com,
remembering when you go into the A and mx records of your dns setup, that
you use domain2.com for both A records and mx record for the domain name
domain2.com. Next, go back to the users list on domain2.com and create a
user pauls and give him an alias of paul. Remember, in the alias, do not put
paul@xxxxxxxxxxx, just put paul.
It should work perfectly.
