Hi Santiago,
I don't know if I am the right person that can help you, but I will try
to take your fear of losing the databases.
Normally, when applying a patch the databases should be safe. But I
would suggest you to make a backup of all databases. You may do that
either with MySQL Control Center (http://www.mysql.com) or phpMyAdmin
(http://www.phpmyadmin.net/).
I think also, that the configuration files shouldn't get changed or if
they will I assume that you will find some backup configuration files in
the same directory (/etc or somewhere else).
Most important.. Backup your databases.. :)
