Agreed, but the Qube3 is primarily targeted at consumers who are not going
to have the necessary skills to repair such a situation.
Given the nature of the beast, and the lack of simple tools to conduct
"repairs" I favour a repair by replacement policy and then restore data.
Sometimes its so easy to make the situation worse. I prefer to have all
safeties on when doing this sort of thing.
