I reloaded the OSRCD 4i on the suspect bad drive and it boots up fine without hanging on checking disk.  I do not think the RAID 1 was functioning properly with 2 drives and the OSRCD 4r loaded on the system.  I am running out of things to try.  I think that both drives are good.
