Well, if you can get the system booted, you can run
cmos -c romrev
from the shell. If you're in the midst of an OS Restore, you're SOL on
that one though... :) No way to do it without a null modem cable...

They should each be jumpered as 'master' and on a separate cable to each
IDE connector on the mobo.

NO! That will _not_ work. You need to have them on physically separate
cables.
