I disagree with this. Clients hate when we "pass the buck". It does not
matter if it's true or not. From their perspective when they call me with a
problem related to e-mail they expect me to fix it. I see no harm in having
an alternate SMTP port open for these clients. I have actually gotten many
accounts specifically because I offer this. There are many themes I must
"pass the buck" (especially about MS e-mail programs, but that is a
different thread) but this is a situation where the fix is easy and if done
properly does not make the server any less secure.
