Is this required for PHP? The existing systems do not have
MySQL-shared installed and have never needed it, it seems to me. In
addition if PHP is built with it's internal MySQL client I don't know
why it would need this.
I only ask because rpm says:
error: failed dependencies:
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by MySQL-shared-3.23.54a-1
libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.2) is needed by MySQL-shared-3.23.54a-1
And I do not want to go upgrading libc or pthreads on a Cobalt box.
Who knows what mess that would cause.

This worked fine on half of the servers and the other half it shot the
whole httpd. I will look deeper and see if I can determine what's
different about the two classes of systems.
