Is there a line in your sendmail.cf with?
O AliasFile=/etc/mail/aliases.majordomo
Underneath
# location of alias file
O AliasFile=/etc/mail/aliases
Do not know majordomo that well and I have not used it. I do remember
when I used m4 to build a new sendmail.cf, that line was removed.
Hope this helps.
