Tried that. Didn't work for the client. It's possible there's some XP-IE interaction, but I didn't have XP available to test with.

Also tried:
ftp://username:password@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx//web

We have *not* found IE to be a reliable FTP client at all. Works for some, not others.

We give people an old copy of WS-FTP-le. Doing this, we can even pre-configure it for them they unzip it and it works right from there no install required.
