Hello everybody,
since about a week ago we are experiencing severe problems with
one of our cobalt raq servers. The server just stops accepting
new network connections several times a day. If I am still logged
in using ssh, I can use top to check the load on the server etc.
After a while the server resumes normal operations as if nothing
had ever happened. If I reboot the system during those times it resumes
normal operations after startup.
The problem is definetely not related to the logrotate process since
usually it's not even running when the problems occur. The load isn't
any higher than usual either. The problems are also not related to
general network problems since I can work on the machine w/o any
problems when I have logged in before the start of the problems.
Furthermore I have a whole bunch of servers running w/o any problems on
the same connection in the same subnet.
I'd really appreciate it, if anybody would share his ideas on what could
cause these problems. TIA
Regards,
Moritz
