Sendmail is the most-used MTA (Mail Transport Agent) on the Internet,
and it works fine. Slowly, sometimes, and it's a resource hog, but it
works fine <smile>.

Nothing to do with sendmail. Nothing to do with aliases, virtusertable,
or any of the sendmail files.

It appears fairly obvious that something was either set up incorrectly,
or changed after setup. Whether by a faulty entry, or by user error, or
system failure, I have no idea.
Nevertheless, you should still make sure you've got working reverse DNS
(as you've probably realized by now, having reverse DNS set up on your
RaQs nameserver doesn't mean it's working; it has to either be done by,
or delegated to you by, whoever provided your IP#s).
And because of a "quirk" in how the RaQs manage email aliasing, you
should make sure you have all A records for both your domain
(example.com) and for your www host at your domain (www.example.com),
and MX records pointing both to the domain (example.com) as well.
