Elmer,
You "need" reverse DNS since about one-third or better of the current
"internet" will not talk to your servers if they do not have reverse DNS
(since the majority of spammers come in from machines/servers without reverse
DNS).

Plus you "need" reverse DNS since your own server said so (see line above).
Do not have a 550 so cannot help further than that...
