No, I'm entirely serious.  I don't want to give you false hope,
but... /var and /home _are_ separate partitions.

	mount /dev/blah1 /mnt
	mount /dev/blah2 /mnt/var
	mount /dev/blah4 /mnt/home

Replace "blah" with appropriate device, of course.  (Normally
it's "md", but I don't know how you're booting.)
