[cobalt-users] Backing Up a Qube 3 to a Windows 2000 Pro PC

Hi Folks,

OK, I have been TRYING to do this for almost 2 days. Reading everything
I can get my hands on, etc. I am running the Qube 3 and my workstation's
is running Windows 2000 Pro (I did this with NO problem last year with a
Qube 2 on a Windows NT workstation.).

I am trying to use the Backup Method SMB Windows File Share.

So I specify the IP address of my PC and the subdirectory off of C:\
that I want it to use (Qube 3) as follows:\\172.16.10.96\Qube 3

and then my User name and Password and click Save.

It spins the clock in the lower left hand corner of the window and says
"Please wait for the changes to complete." And then eventually times out
or something.

I have tried mapping a drive to:\\172.16.10.96\Qube 3 and that works
fine so I do not understand what this thing is doing.

I even added a HOSTS entry for:

172.16.10.96 Chuck

but it did not like that and neither did the map drive deal.

I DO have multiple HD's in this PC (C: and D:).

Any have any idea what it is I am missing ?

Thanks !

Chuck
