Help..!!
I've got a strange situation where email clients are getting errors that
indicate that there is a network problem or server problem etc.. and their
email client gives up basically because of timing out.
What is strange is that it only effects random email accounts of users at
the same physical location so far.. and has been going on for 4-5 days now.
Is there any way to watch the server or check something on the server to
determine if it's at fault?? Or if there is a problem with data
transmission from their location to the Co-Lo where the server is located??
I need to prove some how if it's the server or the ISP causing the problem.
FYI - Webmail works fine..
I'm catching all kinds of heat over this and so far have not seen anything
out of place on the server.. actually it is barely under load at all.
I open to any and all suggestions that would assist me in troubleshooting
this..
FYI - The Server was fine up until last Friday night when the ISP had a
major network re-arrangement and changed all IP's, DNS and so forth.. based
on that I have to believe that the problem is on their end.. but I need to
be able to prove it some how. Also the same ISP provides Internet access
for the customer having the problem. All other customers on the same server
are fine and no complaints. Of course everyones DNS except for the problem
customer are being done from outside the Co-Lo & ISP.
Again.. I desperate here to find the cause..
