You can reboot during RAID rebuild...
FYI, if you've installed the latest kernel upgrade, there's a bug
which makes RAID rebuild take a long time (about 2 days seems to be
average). A fixed kernel is in QA, according to a Sun engineer. In
the meantime, do this as root as a bandaid fix (add to
/etc/rc.d/rc.local so that it happens each time you reboot the
server; remove the fix when the new kernel is installed):
echo 5000 > /proc/sys/dev/md/speed-limit
This will slightly increase your server load average while the RAID is
building, but that's better than taking 2+ days IMO.
