all startup scripts like DOS based autoexec.bat are in /etc/rc.d/init.d/

i think you looking for line 62 ind postgresql which start postmaster:

           su postgres -c "nohup /usr/bin/postmaster >>
/var/log/postgresql 2>&1 &"
