hey all,
been a while since i've posted, but i'll get down to it.
my kswapd became a zombied process earlier today. i rebooted, which
should have run badblocks and fixed the immediate problem, that the
swap partition had some corruption.
the lingering problem is this. i have just finished maxing out my raq2
to 256 MB of ram, but the swap partition is still only 130 MB of ram,
which upsets the little blue box to no end. right now, there are 30 MB
of physical ram free on the server under normal load. it isn't
swapping that much, but because the swap space is now so much smaller
than the physical ram, the machine is sending me emails askin for more
ram.
does anyone know a reliable way to change the size of the swap
partition short of running a restore? is there a workaround that i can
plug in so the machine thinks it has plenty of space??
thanks everybody,
grant
