I am not sure I understand what you are doing.
It is my understanding tat the machine name is not in the
sine-management-list.
Is the old machine name in the site management list?

That is what I would expect it to be, that sounds normal to me.

http://oldhost.domain.tld????
Then you will have to create a virtual site oldhost.domain.tld
