This is a microsft exchange smtp greeting and not sendmail. Make sure you are connecting to the Internet Server and not the local exchange server.
Your sendmail SMTP welcome setting is perfect.

Subject: [cobalt-users] Weird Sendmail Greeting
I have a weird mail server greeting with Sendmail with our Qube3 Plus, it
does not seem to affect the functionality of Sendmail but the following is
the greeting that it displays:
***********************************0*2****0*2*******2******200************0*00
This is part of the sendmail.cf file:
# SMTP initial login message (old $e macro)
O SmtpGreetingMessage=$?{if_name}${if_name}$|$j$. Sendmail $v/$Z; $b
Is my sendmail.cf corrupt? Any ideas?
Santiago.
