Hello List..
A Question about cnames.
I have a domain on my server (Server-A) that I wanted mail to be directed to another server (Server-B). I made on Server-A the DNS records below:
A Record : mail.mydomain.com pointing to IP_Adress on my Server (Server-A)
Then,
MX Record: mail.mydomain.com pointing to mail.otherdomain.com
mail.otherdomain.com is on (Server-B).
Waited for DNS Propogation and now it works fine. All emails are now collected by Server-B.
Now, I want my pop3 users to access thier email accounts on Server-B through Server-A. Is it possible to make the following CNAMES records on Server-A to point to Server-B:
CNAME Records on Server-A:
mail.mydomain.com CNAME mail.otherdomain.com
smtp.mydomain.com CNAME smtp.otherdomain.com
Also, Do I need to make on Sever-A A records for mail.mydomain.com, and smtp.mydomain.com pointing to mydomain.com IP address.
Note:
Server-A is a RaQ4.
Any Help is appreciated.
Thanks
Al-Juhani
