Hi
I have a customer hosting a site with us that gets around 10,000 hits per
day (and rising rapidly). The site is constructed in ASP with a MYSQ
backend.
Most of the requests involve a MYSQL call at some stage. The site is
basically a search engine.
There are about 25,000 records so far ( its a database of leisure activities
in the UK).
This is a commercial venture and the customer is putting big faith into the
project.
How many records will the site stand on one RAQ4 with 512 mb of RAM before
it gets too big for a RAQ?
There are currently around 5 admin staff who input several hundred new
records each day.
I am concerned mainly with speed and disaster recovery.
Any comments, concerns or tips will be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Jamie Rossi
