I too am getting concerned about the Raq EOL issue and the fact that the OS
market is constantly being hit with new exploits that make operating our
boxes a risk to ourselves and our clients/customers. I think most of us on
the list are very concerned about the quality of service we give and the
security that belongs with it.

As for the projects out there for an alternate OS for the Raq's, Qbalt and
some others, I think you may be right Thom. The apathy of the majority makes
it hard for the minority of those trying very tough. Ryan on Qbalt is
looking for a community to help bring about the project. They seem to have
some great ideas. Problem is most of us are small operators that really
can't afford to give up a box to experimentation.

We run Debian's here as the next OS/Box in line to replace or supplement our
hosting operations. Problem is the GUI for the client is tough. Buying
Ensim, Plesk or some of the other projects out there is hard with how
Cobalt's are so restrictive on adding alternate OS's.

We need a second Christmas to get that new Cobalt OS.
